Student Loan Debt and Financial Hardships in Health Care Utilization

This study examines the association between student loan debt and financial hardships in health care utilization among young adults, with a focus on differences by race. analyzes data from 2018 National Financial Capability Study, publicly available set, includes 4,535 adults age groups of 24–35 years. The results show that was related to utilization, measured unpaid medical bills missed services because costs, after controlling for range socioeconomic factors as well measures knowledge behaviors. In addition, had additional negative influence minority adults. Further analyses indicate who outstanding loans, those late payments were more likely have services, compared without payments. These findings inform helpful policy practice implications improving status especially payment
